Of Goods and Bads and Generals
On the Good Side: Ethan started the dishes before 5:00 p.m.
On the Bad Side: They were the lunch dishes.
Good Side: Ardith has safely been moved into her new apartment.
Bad Side: We passed on our illness to her, before she left.
Good Side: At least she has somewhere quiet in which to recover.
In General: I am most pleased for her. It has not been tough thinking about her moving out on her own. After all, she's been away at college for 4 years, in Texas, and now she's only 2 hours away :-) I've heard the living situation is quite nice, and I hope to see it soon. She'll be back this weekend, anyway, to get more "stuff."
___________
Good Side: We actually got the 3 long garden beds dug and prepared as I had intended.
Bad Side: I could only scrounge up enough sweet corn seed at the last minute to fill two of them.
Good Side: Without the help of Carolyn (10) and Ethan (8), one of those beds wouldn't have been dug! They worked terribly hard, digging and planting.
In General: We toiled until dark, last night. The final seed was dropped into the ground at 9:15 p.m. It is still possible to work outside until 9:30, but just barely. I was covering up the seed about that time. *sigh* I still have time to get more seed, I think.
Personal Accomplishments, yesterday: Dug one bed, and helped a little with the kids'. Raked 3 beds and helped plant two. Finished fertilizing the lawn. Cleaned one bathroom. Did three loads of laundry. Mowed for over an hour. Held myself to one small bowl of ice cream for the day. Discovered ice cream right before bed makes you COUGH. Determined not to think about true story where a man coughed so hard he ruptured his spleen and died. (that's when I went downstairs for the cough syrup) Had minor "out of body experience," whereupon the coughing suddenly ceased.

The Good: Planted most of my flowers before breakfast. Even replaced the ones those "I've Got a Death Wish" bunnies ate off while we were gone for a week. Got more things transplanted and de-crab grassed, with the help of Ethan. At 3:00 p.m. I finally got my first real chance to rest during daytime hours, since yesterday morn.
The Bad: Woke up still feeling rotten, only now, with a migraine.
The Really, Really Good: It's raining :-)
Special thanks go to--
-Sharon, for making supper two nights in a row
-Jason, for mowing two days in a row with a machine that has "issues"
-Carolyn and Ethan, for doing battle with weeds, dirt and shovels
-Nolan and Trevor, for "helping Mommy find worms" Tweet
