Off to Mayoland....
...early in the morning.
Loren's fever rose to 101 earlier this evening, though it has since begun to recede.
Another phone call to Rochester, since fever can be the first sign of organ rejection. Probably not, in this case. But the doctor thought it might be good to do a chest x-ray and their own lab work. We haven't heard back yet from the local lab about their strep culture. Guess it takes several days.
It's just that Loren has barely had a sniffle since transplant, and that was only once or twice.
Luckily, Ma has fixin's for crock pot stew, so supper is taken care of. THANKFULLY, Kendra is furtherest along in cold recovery, so she will be ruling the kids with a loving and no-longer-infirm hand.
The fun part will be driving ol' Moby Dick up to Mayo. A fifteen passenger van is a bit of overkill, but the engine is waning on the red mini-van and the zippy red car is still waiting at the shop for the last part to arrive before its overhaul begins.
You haven't had real thrills until you've parked a maxi-van in a city parking garage. Getting in isn't so bad, it's the getting out at the curved exit that is tricksey.
That's OK, though. Ma likes a challenge.
But I like a good night's sleep, better.
