Thoughts While Mowing
One has a lot of time to think while mowing.
In between the sweating-like-a-dog and brain-melting, I mean.
So, regarding this whole bit about "who talks more, men or women?...whoops, they talk the same," theme.
It occurs to me that only part of the question was addressed: who talks more...men with men, or women with women?
Well duh ! What about men AND women?
And here's where we have to break it down even more.
In the "I think I might be serious" dating stage it goes like this:
-women talk more. Period. They are nervous and want to make a good impression and start babbling on and on about extreme minutia while the guy's eyes slowly glaze over.
This will be interpreted by the female as a sign that he is hopelessly falling "in luv."
In reality he is wondering, "When will this agony stop ?" or "I wonder how the Cub's are doing?" (though these thoughts could be synonymous)
Oh sure, there is a point where the guy will speak. (usually when she stops to take of sip of water) After all, he has to have a few important questions answered:
-can she cook half as well as she talks?
-will marrying her complete my set of sci-fi books, music CD's, etc.?
-can I live with that wart under her eye? (he's just thinking about that one, unless he has a death wish)
And the older the bachelor is, the more he will talk. After all, things are getting desperate. Maybe if he talks he'll come across as one of those sensitive guys. The kind that every gal supposedly wants to marry.
HOWEVER, after the wedding things change. That's when the period of bliss--otherwise known as "I'm successfully married/stuck" kicks in. Yes, there's a bit of shuffling about for certain strongholds...toothpaste tube squeezing, toilet paper (over or under) hanging and all the other extraordinarily important issues.
But once those are comfortably negotiated a nice long "We-get-along-aren't-we-cool-? state settles in.
And after a significant period of time, say....20 or 26 years or so, one doesn't actually have to talk to the husband/wife.
This is because you can now read each other's minds :-)
At least that's what we like them to believe...
*slurp*
Excuse me, I have more mowing to do....but you probably knew that.

I just wanted to say I do so enjoy your pictures and humorous outlook on life. I "found" you via 1 DJC62's site. Lest you think that I am a stalker.......she is my older (much older as I refuse to grow up)sister and since there is never any news on her blog.... I decided to enjoy yours instead! So thanks for brightening my day!
As the youngest of five I say, "How do!"
Yes, getting DJC62 to post has been a real poser.
As her sibling I think you should do what I do with my kids...threaten to take her out of "the will."
