The World According to Nolan and Trevor
(conversations on the way home from prayer meeting)
N: Nolan-6-slept through most of the service
T: Trevor-3
M: Mommy, (me)-40ish
N: (gazing out the van window) "I wish I could sleep on the moon."
M: "It's very cold up there. You couldn't sleep. And, there's no air, so you couldn't breathe."
*breif silence*
T: "But, how get down by moon?"
M: *blinks* "You mean, how would you get down? Well, you couldn't. Plus, we can't get up there, so, we'd better just stay down HERE and sleep."
N: "Well, I HATE fireflies?"
M: "You do? Why?"
N: "Because they might land on me and burn me."
*explanation attempted that fireflies do not actually contain material capable of producing fire, or even heat*
*somewhat disconcerting conversation between both boys concerning dogs, (big and little), guns and knives. Ends with M: "Well, we don't HAVE any guns, so we aren't shooting any dogs!"
*pause*
T: "I wish I could sleep on the moon..."
M: *sigh and reiteration of the frigid/no breathing atmosphere and insurmountable distance arguments*
T: "I could ***** a ladder."
*blinks
What followed, after the laughter, was a short debate as to whether Trevor said he would build a ladder (to the moon)-Kendra's claim, or climb a ladder (to the moon)-mine.
Personally, I'm going with the latter, 'cause somehow, it just sounds less scary... Tweet

Oh for the imagination of a child. It can be time consuming, tiring, and most of all produce great quantities of laughter around ones home.... Here is to more years of laughter......
I wish my life were that entertaining on a daily basis...(not that I want my own kids yet...)
