Let's hope it's the cookies.....
I started having this recurring dream up at Mayo--5 short knocks on the door. But when I get out of bed to see who is there....it is no one.
*creepy chills*
So last night, I am actually having a dream with-out sharp noises. I was young again, with a smooth Ron Howard (Opie) making eyes. He had hair, and Melissa Gilbert (Laura Ingalls Wilder) was my mother, soooooo......I am thinkin' there's been a major MAJOR disturbance in the whole Time/Space/Star continuum.
Awakening me from who knows WHAT weirdness, was repeated knocking at the door. As in, real knocking.
It was Nolan.
"Trevor is coughing."
After donning my robe, I stumbled to their room, where I found both beds empty. It was then that a small wail from downstairs began to register in my foggy brain.
"I want Mommy! I want UP !"
*clump, clump down the stairway*
There they were, illuminated by the glow of Nolan's computer, where they were getting a head start on game time at 4:00 in the morning.
*incredulous blinking* "What is going on....?"
Nolan pointed to a small, rather suspicious and odiferous puddle in front of Carolyn's computer...."There." *turns back to his game*
"Oh....that kind of coughing...."
There wasn't much to clean up. Nolan realized it was not officially day and willingly turned off his computer.
See, the kids made Christmas cookies yesterday, and later that evening, asked if they could have some.
"Sure."
"How many?"
I contemplated the different kinds, sizes, sugar content, and each child's weight and height...."Use your own good judgement."
There were a few glances exchanged that said, "Is Mommy sick?" and then a mass stampede for the kitchen. Now that I think on it, Trevor may have had one or two more than was good for him.
At any rate, we hope it's the cookies.... Tweet
