Just in case you wondered...
...today is National Kazoo Day and Have Fun at Work Day.
Did not do much in the way of celebrating, as I thought Pastor John might not appreciate kazoos during this morning's services. Though to be fair, I didn't ask him...
Also, the whole concept of having fun at work is rather oxymoronic, particularly on Sunday when we are slumming around in the afternoon watching extras from Narnia.
So, I decided to proclaim my own day of choice, What is Jason Doing These days? Day
That is hard to say, since he's been off of IM for the past WEEK, thus depriving me of the small joy of noticing when he goes to bed each evening.
One could wonder and fret, but that would not be a wise use of time.
No, I prefer to do something much more profitable and enjoyable: speculate.
There are several possibilities...
1) He is studying OH so hard, in an effort to impress his chère maman.
2) He has been sent on a secret mission for the school, one for which his congenial personality and innocent visage would provide the perfect disguise. (quite possibly part of the presidential search committee)
3) His computer is on the fritz.
4) He has exceeded the school's bandwidth limitations for the month, and has to wait until February rolls around before resuming communication (however sparse) with his family. (don't know if this even applies, but I do know there is a monthly allotment)
5) He is on to my spying techniques and stays off IM precisely so I can't see how late he is staying up.
6) .........(open to outside speculation)
Or, maybe he has a girlfriend.
Only he can set the record straight.

Or, maybe, he changed his IM name. Or he blocked you. Nah, he wouldn't do that. Got to be the girlfriend option.

...that makes one "undecided" and one "girlfriend," though technically, I think I could count Thainamu's comment as two votes for "girlfriend"...yeah, I'm goin' with the latter.
6a) He's just being a normal non-communicative techie.
After a full 25 days without talking to my younger son, I phoned him. His mouth was full when he answered, and he said, "Can I call you back?" I said, "No, you can talk to me now." I was afraid he would forget. Or fall asleep. Or ditch me for his girlfriend with whom he was having dinner. So I got 10 minutes of conversation including how he's doing sewing up after gall bladder operations.
That might work,
EXCEPT HE HAS NEVER HOOKED UP THE PHONE I BOUGHT FOR HIM AND HE DIDN'T EVEN GIVE ME HIS NUMBER IN THE EVENT HE ACCIDENTALLY DOES HOOK IT UP.
But I'm fine...really.
