Out Ioway

My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of Heaven and earth,
He will not let your foot slip-
He who watches over you will not slumber.

More Opera :-)

Now, just do me a favor and go far enough into this to get to the hauntingly simple, yet mesmerizing melody. Go past the intro and into the second minute or you won't even know what you are missing.

I just don't care for the month of February. Besides being cold and bleak weather-wise, it has other bad memories for our family.

February 27th, 1995 at 11:16 am (yes, I remember the exact time) was when I received the call that Loren had been found by the side of the road in cardiac arrest. (I was so dumb, I thought it was the same thing as a heart attack)

Four years later, on February 17th at 4:30 am was when Loren was awakened out of a sleep by his defibrillator going off for the very first time.

This was the same year that Ethan had a febrile seizure, during prayer meeting.

And Dad died a year ago, tomorrow.

So I've been playing lots and lots of my favorite music, over and over. The above selection has been heard more than once. Pretty soon I'm gonna have the kids humming it in their sleep :-D

There are a lot of ugly hurtful things in the world that can be temporarily blotted out by beautiful music.

No harm in trying, anyway.

It is worth trying. And that aria is beautiful. I've loved opera ever since hearing "Va, pensiero" from Nabucco.

It is interesting to note that opera was once so popular that the entire massed crowd of thousands spontaneously broke into that particular chorus at Verdi's funeral. At least some keep it alive today.
