Sunday Reunion Activities
I seem to be getting these updates on one day behind schedule, but that may be the best I can do at present.
Sunday was father's day as well as Nolan's birthday :-)
So after the traditional morning services we retired to the gym for another scrumptious meal followed by singing "Happy Birthday" to Nolan. (we'll celebrate his birthday back home, later)
Then the crew gathered in a circle for some father-type remembrances, concerning Grandpa Hoyt, who passed away in March, as well as all of the fathers present. These latter and often hilarious contributions were gleaned from the massive pool of children which mysteriously shows up at every Hoyt reunion. Many of us still do not know how they got here...
Here you see Nelda, Loren's sister, and her husband, Walter.
It was quite natural to recall fond memories of Galen, Loren's younger brother who died in 2003
Stan walked around the outside of the circle, taking many photos and trying not to laugh so hard that he compromised the picture quality.
(Loren said he would buy ME a lens like that some day. Well, he didn't actually say that, but it never hurts to drop small hints. I probably wouldn't be strong enough to hold it up, anyway....)
Later that evening, Stan directed our "choir" in a number we may do later in the week.
Ma stepped out while the sopranos had a break so as to take this picture. (the group sounds better without me, anyway)
Later that evening we retired to the Banek household for confabings and braidings of hairses.
Here we see four in a row. Taylor joined in the back later, going to work on Erica's hair. But trust me, you don't want to see the end result.
Today has been busy with softball, swimming and tonight the females are all a quiver concerning the promised English line dancing.
Some of the menfolk are doing their best to make disdainful comments....well, at least Loren and Jason. But many of the females (and a few males) have dressed themselves in goodish looking clothing.
I even have a chance to catch Ardith with the camera, who uncharacteristically was persuaded to don a skirt for the festivities.
Now, I don't wish to make promises, but I could easily be induced to post pictures of her for free, though contributions are always welcome...

The check (or alternative form of remuneration) is in the mail.
Ma, I actually recognize some of the nice people in the photos you've been posting!
If you were to make the quick jaunt over to Longview, we'd be more than happy to finance any and all such efforts.
what on earth? how did I get logged in there?
Whatsa matter? Afraid of looking human?
