Saturday Snow Blow
Well folks, she be blowin' out thar.
The wind speed is 31 mph, sustained. Good thing the temp has gone up to 26 degrees, causing some of the snow to get warm enough to make it less easy to blow around. Barely.
Still, as I drove home the last time from cleaning the church, Ma was bucking the drifts in the zippy-red-car-of-ka-LUMPH-iness. Quite fun really, but if this drift...
..had been much farther north, I might not have made it to the driveway.
I'm quite sure many of the gravel roads are becoming nearly impassible.
Where are the weather advisories? Where is the Iowa National Guard?
WHERE IS MY CHOCOLATE?!
It was even snowing inside the church!
(I know this is a bum picture, but my flash doesn't work and possibly loose, flabby cheek jowls were slapping the camera...I don't know.
Still, that triangular-shaped white thing left of center is a mound of snow that came in through a vent on the roof, and found its way down....down....down to the basement ladies bathroom, settling on the window ledge.
Using my laser-like brain to assess the situation, I said to Carolyn and Ethan, "Well, I guess we'd better clean that up..."
(you learn to make these life and death decisions, after being a janitor for 8 years)
At any rate, the wind be howlin', and the snow...she be a goin' sideways...ARRRRGH, laddies!
An' it don't show no signs uh lettin' up, nyther...
