Out Ioway

My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of Heaven and earth,
He will not let your foot slip-
He who watches over you will not slumber.

To whom it may concern

The following IM's are brought to you for your enjoyment. If it provides clarification to anyone...so much the better. These postings are by no means an attempt to embarrass and will not be habitual. I probably won't be believed on that point, but it is true, nonetheless.
_______________

Ma: Anything happening?
Son: uh, not especially
Son: why?
Ma: Just wondered.
Ma: You forget....we live in the country. And excitement might mean grocery shopping.
Son: oh, right...
Son: *insert sophisticated smiley face that doesn't copy...*
Ma: I'll take a smiley face :-)

Ma: Anything happening?
Daughter: oh the evening started great... I only had 30 minutes worth of a 3 hour night class,

*insert five minutes concerning basketball game that was narrowly lost at the last minute*

Daughter: In other news, on Tuesday, I and my environmental class had our first taxidermy session,
Ma: Oh boy!
Daughter: the ones who brought in animals were put to work ripping them apart and skinning them,
Ma: Really. I could have sent you some mice. I had no idea...
Daughter: while the rest of us just started deboning various claws/paws, of animal body parts that had been cooked.
Ma: Whoa
Daughter: Well that helps get rid of any germs they might have carried
Ma: Well of course.....*gag*....
Daughter: they really didn't look any different, it was just slightly unnerving touching (with gloves) some animals paw and taking it apart to get the bones:-P
Ma: At least you have something to fall back on if this whole PA thing doesn't work out.
Daughter: yeah, I don't think so
Daughter: they completely removed the trachea from a goose or large bird, so some of them were passing that around:-D It was somewhat like a springy tube
Ma: Was this before, or after lunch?
Daughter: Evening class. Right after supper
Ma: *nods*
Daughter: *laughs* It wasn't bad once you got used to it. Though at least one girl definitely had nothing to do with even touching anything. Not all the people in that class are bio majors--hence some were slightly more squeamish than the rest of us
Ma: So, what kind of non-science person TAKES that course?
Daughter: maybe for science elective
Daughter: but like the girl pointed out, the kind of stuff we did that night was definitely not in the course outline
Daughter: well okay, we were warned we would be undergoing a taxidermy session. You just don't really think through all the implications until it happens:-P
Ma: I wish I had known. There have been several skunks on the road, of late.
Daughter: ummm....
Ma: I could have sent several.
Daughter: *rolls eyes* I'll try not think about the missed opportunity
Ma: You KNOW how I want to be involved...
Daughter: I could have one of the girls send you pictures--there were several taken of various stages
Ma: Oh yes. Then I could post them on the blog....*smiles sweetly*...
Daughter: well that would be one way to instantaneously and dramatically reduce the number of readers
Ma: I like to think there is a broad readership, of broadminded people. Some of whom are quite broad.
Daughter: *laughs* I'm not sure I want to know what you mean by those quite broadminded people
Ma: And anyway, I am always available to help out. Remember, you are my little girl! ....*wipes away a tear*...
Daughter: :-D I'll remember
Ma: Sending a skunk or two would be as nothing
Ma: I would consider it a shipping challenge, in fact.
Ma: As would the mail service.
Daughter: those poor postal workers....
Ma: Might persuade a few to take early retirement.
Ma: Cut down on costs...
Ma: Save the country money...
Ma: I can see no down side, here.
Daughter: well I can see a few down sides....just a sec *checks watch* okay, I guess I have a couple hours
Ma: Oh alright. Guess I'd better roust the kids into the bedtime routine, anyhow.
Daughter: ok, have a good night
Ma: you too
