It's Official!

 

I picked up the certificates for Melinda and myself a couple weeks ago, but haven't got around to posting until now. That has to speak to my humility.

Hung that baby right above my desk...not to remind people of my extensive credentials, but to remind myself of a project started and completed. Completed in the sense that now we only need six hours of volunteer work and six hours of continuing education each year, to retain the status. As opposed to the 40 hours work and 6 of ed., this past year.

Anyone not completing the requirements in ensuing years will be visited by black helicopters in the dead of night, from which unidentified people will emerge, armed with uzies, to take back the certificates.

(I was just kidding! They would probably use regular helicopters....)

But that's not all, oh no!

The pin even came in a little cellophane wrapper marked, "made in China," so you know it's real, people!

And the badge? Well, wearing that baby will pert near get me access to the University Office of the President, anytime of the day or night. At the very least, I should be able to enter the greenhouse and help weed, or...whatever.

Oh yes, this is JUST THE BEGINNING.

Someday, when I publish my first book, you'll be able to flip to the back cover and see my bio, where these very credentials will be listed. I can hear it now,

"Well, I thought the book stunk, but at least she's a Master Gardener, so I guess her life isn't a total waste...."

*sigh*

Can fame and fortune be far behind?
