We'z back!
Yes, I have successfully brought the 2nd child home, except, I guess she is not a child.
*sigh*
Now she has a lovely (we hope) 6 week break before heading off to....
FRANCE! Yes, O Language Lover, You have just won a trip to sunny France, the land of wine and riots. (all expenses paid by yourself, of course...but still, it's quite an honor)
As I finished up some shopping, killing time awaiting Sharon, I stumbled into McDonald's in search of a healthful meal. Deciding to eat anyway I cast my observant gaze around the "dining room." It appeared they were going for a Spartan theme, with mismatched card tables and scuffed-up cafe rejects. The sign on the door said they were closing early, due to "refurbishing,"
"Is this for here or to go?"
I took one more sensory whiff of the ambiance-oozing atmosphere and replied, "To GO."
Amidst the chill of evening, I scarfed my fries and burger in the comfort of the little Toyota. I savored each greasy bite, listening to NPR....and then....the cell phone rang.
"Hi, Mommy! We're not to Iowa City, yet...."
*falling crest*
"It will be about 2 hours, or more."
"But, but Sharon....What'll ah do? Where'll ah go? What'll becum uh lil' ol' meyuh?....
*epiphany*
I know, I'll just go the MALL!"
(when the going gets tough, the tough get to the bookstore)
