Out Ioway

My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of Heaven and earth,
He will not let your foot slip-
He who watches over you will not slumber.

Ice in April

The sepia tint denotes the depressed state we reside in as we contemplate temperatures in the twenties and ice on the windows and screens.

Oh, and snow flurries.

The good news is...the 24 mph winds make the 25 degree temperature feel like 10 degrees (12 C).

Haven't seen Rocky for a couple 'o days so I hope the poor pigeon is OK.

A new month means new holidays to celebrate, no matter how our senses beg to differ.

April is....

INTERNATIONAL GUITAR MONTH!! Yes...a worldwide holiday, folks! The rest are simply of national status:

Keep America Beautiful Month

Math Education Month

Frog Month

Humor Month

Stress Awareness Month (oh, could I give you an earful, there...)

Poetry Month

Garden Month

Those are all the non-depressing designations, ANYway. In keeping with the last, our seed order arrived today :-) You should have seen the excitement on the kids' faces. Right up until the first snowflake fell.

*makes mental note to "dig up" a tiller*

Of course it being National Poetry Month there should be PLENTY of opportunity for Ma to unleash her lines of rhyme. Remember, the above pronouncement does not distinguish between good or bad poetry :-D so all's fair in love and non-prosaic doggerel.

As for this day in particular--Tell a Lie Day--please don't. This holiday was probably made up by the same folks that produced famous ditties such as, "You're not overweight, you're just big-boned," and (in shocked amazement) "But Honey, I didn't buy the Harley for me, it's for the family!"

Pardon my distraction.
___________

On the home front I am happy to say that I'm starting to feel better, though five or six days of no exercise has probably taken it's toll. But hey, WHAT'S A FEW MORE POUNDS on someone who's been up and down as much as me? Hah! Nothing. A mere pittance. A drop in the ol' lard bucket, as they say.

To close in a spirit of humor, a cartoon.
