Post Harvest Haste
Mr. Frey finished up the field this afternoon and you should have seen those kids...
I'd have taken a picture but I was mowing at the time. I do have to work around this joint, occasionally.
As the bean-laden semi rolled out of the drive for the last time, the youngest four were standing not far off with respectful stances in honor of the farmer's hard labor.
Then, as soon as he was safely headed down the gravel road they ran like jack-rabbits into the the newly shorn field, shouting in jubilation all the way.
Time for the freedom of roaming vast expanses...for the joy of gleaning leftover legumes.
Time to forget to come in to use the potty.
Hey, "Don't ask, don't tell" has more than one application, folks.
ANY-way, here are just a few pics...
Carolyn prepares a nest for Trevor and Nolan.

Derek and Melinda stayed up at the house to work on their thresher.
(might as well let the little kids do all the grunt work, after all)
If you can see a small red blob waaaayyyy back...that is Ethan.
Poor Ethan! After Nolan returned from the BACK of the field Ethan asked him, "Where's the rake?"
Oops.
As Nolan was so, SO THIRSTY, someone else volunteered to go back and retrieve it.
Guess Ethan will sleep good, tonight.
