Yes, it's "Talk Like A Pirate Day!"

And that's got National Butterscotch Pudding Day beat all to pieces.

I took the official pirate quiz where it turns out I am "Positively Pedestrian." I'd link to that except for the one question that constrains a mild-mannered Christian mother of ten.

Then I discovered a YouTube video where Old Chumbucket and Captain Slappy provide instruction in the meaning of the five pirate "A's," Ahoy, Avast, Aye, Aye-aye, and that really critical one, Arrrrr.

Unfortunately, I can't link to that video due to one unfortunate reference which most of my kids were too naive to pick up on.

(they are going around the house speaking in their best piratey tones, "I'd like a muffin!")

Ahoy though, all is not lost. For your enjoyment, here are Captain Slappy, Old Chumbucket and a young pirate-to-be singing, "I'm a Pirate."
