Hols of the Day
Good thing I didn't do this yesterday. There were at least six or seven items and who can keep up?
And still there is no Green Tomato Pie day...
Among other things, today was when Derek took the PSAT. He took it for practice last year and did a practice test on Friday and has been prepping over the past months.
Nothing like paying money to undergo torture.
Anyway, today is:
National Apple Dumpling Day
Citizenship Day
Constitution Day
Black Poetry Day
Of course there were a few other holidays mentioned but I have to cull it down to a reasonable number...

Wait a minute - that site must have been faulty. Peron never became dictator, and he wasn't elected president until 1946.

While there are at least two sites that claim Peron became dictator on October 17, 1945, it appears that he was not actually elected president until 1946. (accessing the info on the scopes site will require you to type in the date of October 17)
(I guess you don't get elected to "dictator," do you....)
I think that while his title was that of "President," his function was more that of a dictator...would you agree?
Upon further research I found that on the date of October 17, 1945, there was a rather notable mass assemblage which is later seen to be the beginning of "Peronism."
It does appear that the first two sites listed above were inaccurate in their statements, unless the person who listed the data was making rather broad assumptions about the meaning of what was taking place.
(probably one person just copied data from the other)
One's perspective might also depend on one's political outlook, heh, heh.
The nitty-gritty is...stating that "Peron became dictator on October 17, 1945" appears erroneous.
My apologies. It goes to show how one should never completely trust the Internet :-D
