Out Ioway

My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of Heaven and earth,
He will not let your foot slip-
He who watches over you will not slumber.

Iowa FUN News

This is goin' out for all those folks who think Iowa can be epitomized by farmland and those twin themes of hogs and presidential candidates.

Well you are so wrong!

(and I hope you have video capacity so you can enjoy the full effect)

When a tenured professor of the University of Iowa can stand up dressed like a robot and heckle Bill Clinton...well, all I can say is, OUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK, people!

And this guy even has a page on Wikipedia, so you just KNOW he is really somebody.

Ardith, our daughter-who-lives-on-the-cutting-edge-of-technology, sent this breaking news to me last night and I felt so very badly that I had not heard of it earlier, but then all was made aright as the hubby and I--foiled by yet more Seinfeld and Raymond reruns--were forced to watch the local news at 10.

All I can say is...somebody's mother is crying, somewhere.
_______________

But as Paul Harvey says, "Wash your ears/eyes out with this."

And amazingly enough, The Ancient and Effervescent Order of Little Yellow Dogs does not have an article on Wikipedia, or even a webpage of its own, which is pretty much synonymous with having an article on Wikipedia.

I think someone should work to rectify that heinous laxity of notoriety.

Dogs are cute.

And yellow dogs that earn money for charity should at least have a web page to call their own.

Also, if Ardith could let me know that I found this latter article before her, it would basically make my life complete.

Have a nice day, y'all, and keep a lookout for the robots...

Shockingly enough, no, I had not yet heard about The Ancient and Effervescent Order of Little Yellow Dogs until now.

Didn't know if you knew, I'm sure you haven't heard from sisinok. At least an inch of ice has fallen in SS and Tulsa. She has been without electricity since Sunday morning. She lost her phones late Sunday night. She was finally able to get out yesterday and she and Samuel spent the night in Henryetta. Devastation is all I can use to describe her property. As well as missing so far probably a weeks worth of work maybe longer. They say at least 7 to 10 days without power. She will probably update when she can get back online.

Wow. I did not know exactly but was wondering how bad it was. Now I feel like a heel for not checking in somehow, though don't know if could have gotten through.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH, Kathryn.
