Feed the Birds

 
In keeping with National Bird Feeding Month, Ma refilled the sadly neglected feeders, yesterday. The finch feeder bit the dust (again) in high winds so that will have to be replaced.

Here's our fatithful friend, the Nuthatch :-)
He's been hanging around all winter and has recently started feeding off the suet block that Melinda made.

They are pretty fast though, and he wouldn't stay on the suet feeder long enough to snap him.

This is an important time to feed birds, since by now they have depleted most of the available food sources in the wild. Also, they need to store up energy for the busy spring season.

Still don't know why someone decided to name this a Red-breasted Nuthatch...
...perhaps "yellow" was too hard to spell.
