Out Ioway

My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of Heaven and earth,
He will not let your foot slip-
He who watches over you will not slumber.

Frustration

I had so wanted to post an urgent prayer request but our Internet was down this morning...

Doug Severs, a man in our church, really needs our prayers. We received a call this morning that he had been taken to Intensive Care.

Doug entered the hospital through the emergency room on Friday and was referred to a cardiologist. He has suffered much angina of late and upon examination doctors decided he needed a quadruple bypass. But first they were going to check out the carotid arteries in his neck.

Don't know any details but "something went wrong" this morning and the family has been urged to come to the hospital.

I would guess Doug is close to 60 years old and complicating matters is the fact that he had polio as a child, always had a mobility problem and that has only degenerated in recent months and years.

*phone call*

I do know now that one of the reasons for intensive care is Doug having gone into atrial fibrillation this morning. As it stands, a quintuple bypass is being scheduled for first thing in the morning.

Lots of difficulty because of his not being able to have the standard rehab program afterward, but doctors are encouraged that he has a strong heart muscle and good lungs.

So, lots of prayer potentialities for the Severs and Ma would be most grateful for any supplications on their behalf.
_______________

In other news, it was wicked slippery this morning with freezing drizzle and Loren fell on the ice while going out to get the mail. Broke his hand. It's called a "boxer's break," and the doctor said if you need to break a bone, that or the clavicle are the ones to break.

So, Loren is to be commended for his physical prowess in getting the right bone broken. (it's the place where you give karate chops) It doesn't get casted since the bone heals quite nicely no matter what. Of course, there is some pain involved :-(

Ma has already rewrapped the soft bandage twice since the doctor's and my first attempts were too tight.

Loren and I were discussing the process for his leading singing in church for the next 6-8 weeks...I think he should just have people "follow the bouncing white bandage."

*sigh*

Sometimes life is just so weird it's best not to think about it...
