Oh, the inhumanity

We've been having Internet problems over the past day, leading me to such desperate measures as playing the piano, reading extra books to the kids and even perusing the seed catalogs.

Thank goodness THAT's over and I can return to correcting blog typos and finding out who's entering the presidential race.

In other news, Carolyn downloaded "Wet Spot," a game the children had once had on the computer. Melinda then discovered how to "unzip" it and as this occurred shortly before bedtime, Ma granted a special dispensation of extra game time (20 minutes) so they could fulfill the dream of a lifetime and commence playing a game on the same day it was downloaded.

There is one little glitch, however....it appears this particular game was developed when computers were slower and while the Hoyts do not ride on the extreme cusp of technology, apparently we are close enough that Wet Spot runs quite a bit faster than originally intended.

Yes, worms are flip-flopping across the screen at incredible speeds. The gamers stand very little chance and are "dying" willy-nilly, all over the place.

Maybe there is some justice in the world, after all :-D
