Howdy Ma'am

 

Not the greatest picture, I'll admit, but good enough considering that the last time Baltimore Orioles were seen outside the window, kids came rushing into the living room and...

PPPhht, off they went.

This time there were pronounced whispers of "SLOWLY!" "Don't make any NOISE..." by the kids, not me. They medium-aged ones seem burdened that the youngest ones don't scare away the birds so I can get a picture and put it on the blog.

I don't know where they get this mania.

The male had also alighted on the swing set, and I was slowly...slowly creeping into the living room...and decided to get a faraway shot from the doorway before risking anything closer...and then the female came and as I was focusing on her...the male flew away.

Oh well.

I've never seen a female Baltimore Oriole, so I am happy :-)

And now...back to the garden for more crabgrass crunching.
