Out Ioway

My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of Heaven and earth,
He will not let your foot slip-
He who watches over you will not slumber.

You Know You're Getting Old When...

  • ...you look in the mirror on Sunday morning and discover you fit right in with all the matronly plump-and-past-their-prime women you saw walking around the mall as a teenager.
  • ...you keep making random mistakes at the checkout counter concerning the technological advancement of pin pads, whereas in the old days, all you punched were the buttons on your calculator to see how much food you'd have to put back on the grocery shelves.
  • ...you find yourself sending emails to the wrong people, because your computer is not up to speed with your mouse button, and so even if you THINK you're clicking on the right address, your computer will send it to someone else who is totally confused about why the public library is getting an email concerning your gynecological visit--which didn't happen, by the way, but you get the idea.
  • ...you finally wise up and realize that life doesn't get smoother, but you do have many legitimate reasons to take a nap.

No, Ma, you got it all wrong--you know you're getting old when you don't remember doing all those things.

On second thought, I guess that would mean you actually wouldn't know you're getting old, then, would you?
