May Oriole Madness

Another banner bird day for the Hoyt household!

I'd put out oranges a few days ago, and this morning, Mr. Oriole obliged us with his presence.

At first he was just around the back. I'd resigned myself to a tail shot, to prove he'd been here...

..but then he swung around to a better vantage point.
Ooo, that looks like a painful tail disolcation...

After that, he just sat on top of the stand and posed, for a bit :-)


I may swing the stand around, so the oranges are closer to the window from where I take pictures and the kids watch.

Speaking of which, all children were thrilled to see this gorgeous creature.
Even Jason had to admit, "Hmmmm, very pretty."

Gotta love those bright, contrasting colors.

In other news, Loren and I had a great time last night, with dinner out and a movie. Star Trek. Whoa, BABY! Action packed, all the way! Ma's heart never quite slowed down, the entire time.

You need the kind of seats where you move the middle armrest up, so the wife can clutch her husband's arm and hand. Men may want to have a temporary cast put on, beforehand, to prevent bone breakage, and ladies, by all means, clip your fingernails to a non-scarring length, before the movie.

All I can say is "WOOO-eee!" This movie definitely gets two thumbs up from el Mao.
