Days of Pine and Hoarfrost
It's not that I don't appreciate the pretty frost...IT'S JUST THAT FIVE DAYS ENCLOSED IN THE WHITE FOG-OF-FREEZINESS IS GETTING OLD.
We did have the sun shine for part of Saturday afternoon, but that picture will have to wait.
From the yard this morning:

Wire fences have been repainted. In fact, not much isn't covered.
I wouldn't have thought mere frost could bring down a branch...
...but given enough days, with refreezing each night, something had to give.
Hoarfrost, up close and personal.
In case you haven't gathered, hoarfrost is what happens when dense fog freezes overnight. We had these beautiful exhibitions before, but never for so many consecutive days.
Indeed, the frost may have been the cause of our Internet service disruption. Our provider thought the jagged tips of the frozen stuff on the antenna were interfering with the signal.
(and behold, we are back to slow modem goin' at the moment)
Good news, though...we're going to get rain to wash it away, after which will come freezing rain....looks like the good news will be short lived.
Our county is on the edge of a winter storm warning (for the fifth time) so we'll see what happens. 1/4 to 1/2 inch ice accumulation expected in that area. The last time we lost power was when 1 inch of ice piled up. We might just make it...
If you don't hear from us for a couple days, send salt.

Oooo! Look at the magical grain bin! It didn't even need to be repainted to match! Oooo!
Will you accept iodized table salt among the charitable salt contributions?
Second thought, just send cash.
Tens and twenties would be fine. Less postage that way.
I don't have cash. I just have a credit card, and salt. So at least I can pay the postage to send you lots of salt.
