Big, Big Plans, Up at the Hoytstead

This Saturday is the regional Republican convention in Dubuque. I think I got the name right...

It's either that, or "The Conventionally Republicans Meeting in the Democratic Stronghold of Dubuque."

Anyway, it's the next convention-thingy that occurs after the county one, which I believe is actually the District....it's....all rather confusing.

This year the kids don't exactly have a ride, but that's OK!

Ma has plans.

Moi, myself will take the three junior delegates to their appointed groupage. Also coming: the two young lads, Nolan and Trevor, alias "The Hulk" and "The Twerp," a.k.a. "Trouble and Squealer."

The budding anarchists can have their conventional fun, and I'll take the younger boys for a special outing with Ma :-)

I promised them "something later," after I took Carolyn to see Romeo and Juliet and Ethan to see The River City Chorus. Now it's finally time for the last of the crew (I figure Melinda got in her special activity with the Master Gardener classes last year).

We're going to rough it with backpacks and lunches. Maybe walk along some viewing places by the Ol' Mississip, hit a playground or two, take some trails...somewhere, and just generally see the sights. Possibly a Bald Eagle or two!

Should be fun, as long as this ol' Ma can stay awake.

*puts Diet Coke with caffeine on the shopping list*

And right now the weather looks to be non-rainy, so everything is in line for propitious romping and recreation.
