Life in the Yard
My favorite Knockout Rose...Red
Practically fluorescent
Violas, hiding out in the rock garden
The eaten pansies grew back and it seems that the deer are leaving things alone, for now.
House Wren...guess he forgave me for covering up the furnace exhaust pipe, for he's still singing up a storm around our house.
Sure, it's not the best image, but we're going for the cool effect of the wire :-)
My darkest hued Prairie Rose, the state flower of Iowa.
I'm so glad these are finally taking off...they were hard to transplant from the ditch...(I mean, if I were to DO such a thing, they would be hard to get going, I imagine). And with all the heavy rains of late, there aren't that many petals left on the rose bushes
White Tiger Lily. Got these bulbs from the local grocery store. They didn't look so hot but lo and behold, they grew !
Bought them to keep company with the Orange Tiger Lilies I rescued from the ditch. They aren't blooming quite yet, but they have survived the winter.
It's been a nice day to laze around, start a new book, make the kids pit cherries (feel sorry and help them), get some weeding done (it's so wet out there it smells like the lake), and have my slaves clean the bathrooms.
And right now the little boys are outside getting dirty after their baths. They were clean for a few moments, however.
That counts, in my book.

I want slaves to clean my bathrooms. 'Cept I just cleaned 'em because I had 25 women over today, but guess that means they should be cleaned again!
Unfortunately, this does not include the master bedroom bath, which may or may not get cleaned quite as often :-(
Mommy, beautiful flower pictures, but I do feel compelled to point out that it's spelled FLUorescent, not PHLorescent. Unless you're going for the Phloxy spelling.
You're right, of course. I think that was posted late at night and I was tired.
I always appreciate people letting me know when something's off kilter, just in case Stephen King or John Grisham are reading through blogs in search of the next, great novelist.
I would really hate for them to see my mistakes.
