*Insert Boring Title*
I may be blank for a headline but I did get a few things done.
First and foremost, we got through school at a decent time this morning...er, afternoon, and that means NO MORE SCHOOL UNTIL MONDAY!!
Ethan thinks the reason I love Friday is because it's movie night for Carolyn and me (and sometimes Ethan, if we're feeling particularly magnanimous).
But the real reason I love Friday is because I don't have to think about getting up and pretending to be enthusiastic with Nolan and Trevor's school.
However, there was slightly less hassle than usual--for the past two days, actually...it's almost scary--and the ol' studies went down fairly well.
There was one interruption. That downy woodpecker that I showed in an earlier photo has taken a liking to pecking at the window frame, close to the feeder. I'll try to get a picture, but I can't for the life of me figure out why it's going for the window. The chance of finding bugs seems rather remote.
On the weight-loss front, I have a slight bit of good news. Lost 1 more pound over the course of this week, making it 4 pounds lost in 2 weeks. I'd been hoping for 5 or 6, but I guess 4 will do. At least I think it's 4...one never really knows, with that scale.
Also got in 4 miles on the treadmill, both today and yesterday, so coupled with the 1200 calories, it should produce results, don't you think? I can keep going as long as I see results.
There was a totally uncharacteristic activity today, in that I spent a fair amount of time on supper. Cutting up chicken, dipping in egg and flour and frying all the little pieces for Sweet-n-Sour Chicken. Even Ethan made the incredibly supportive comment of, "That was moderately good, Mommy."
That, plus my health nut staring at it and asking, "Are there any vegetables (besides the obvious green peppers) in this?" are both good reasons to spend a messy hour cooking coated chicken.
Now I am off to my lovely hot bath, made all the lovelier by the oodles of hot water we have, now that both heat pumps are working.
And I'm going to need that hotness for quite a while. It was -15 last night and spring looks to be far off, at the moment.
