Da Man Be Workin'!

At this very moment, while I peacefully type, listen to opera and munch on trail mix, the man with the new heart is outside working on the van. Loren, attired in a FedEx jumpsuit, is busy doing something with the old 15 passenger vehicle, to make it mobile for it's trash run. Three eager youngsters are watching every move, no doubt astounded by their father's new found stamina.

Two days ago, Loren was underNEATH the van, changing the oil. You would have to have lived around here for the last two years to fully appreciate the difference in him. He was up until 11:00 last night messing about with his computer. And it's not unusual to see him clumping up and down the stairs without regard. Before, he used to come downstairs between 1 or 2pm, and head back up again about 6:00pm, not to return till the next day. I'm starting to feel like a real slacker around the guy.

I am happy to say that my worst fears of being away from the children have not materialized. Besides everyone remaining unmaimed, Trevor still loves me! He is sitting on my lap, this very moment, taking note of ways to infiltrate my computer setup, no doubt.

At mealtimes he is seated at the opposite end of the table, by his best buddy and bro', 17 year old Jason. However, he has taken to carting his drink and plate down to his maman, where he crawls up on my lap to finish his repast. What a little bunny! *sigh*

We have had a turn for the cold, weather wise. Winds from the north make that side of the house rather cool. I wouldn't want to be too graphic, the when the toilet seat is shockingly chilled, things have come to a pretty pass, indeed. But, other than this necessary reduction in my leisure reading, everything is going rather well.
