Wheelin,' Dealin,' Plantin,' and Whinin'
Many, many things in the works......
*takes moment to allow brain to emerge from swirling fog of activity*
-gave Ethan his last practice test to prepare him for the Test of Iowa Basic Skills. He, Derek, Carolyn and Melinda all have to take it to meet state requirements. This is Ethan's first year, and, by gum, I wanted to make sure he knew how to fill out those little circles!
-had a short refresher course with the other testees on the "Sources of Information," section, on which we always seem to score abysmally low. Fortunately, the state just looks at Math and Verbal composites.
-found map and printed out directions (all by my lil' ol' self) so it will be IMPOSSIBLE for me to get lost when I drive the kids in for testing on Thursday and Friday.
-made headway in obtaining a caterer for Ardith's graduation shin-dig. But, since our fax machine would not cooperate, the restaurant and I had to resort to old fashioned methods, such as phone, and, get this, snail mail. Special thanks go out to Heather, for being such a helpful daughter to poor old "Ma." She was IMing me and on the phone with the caterer at the same time. Is this not a wonderful world?
-bought a few trifles on line in consideration of someone's upcoming birthday. She shall remain anonymous.
-burned half the cookies intended for snack *slight verbal reprisal aimed at oven*
-supervised kids planting radishes (two kinds), carrots, lettuce, potatoes, and peas in the garden
(Did I mention that most of this things were happening simultaneously? Thus, the brain strain)
But, the capstone occurrence to the day was Jason finding his admission ticket to the ACT test this Saturday. Plus, he likes burnt cookies!

Yeah, I need to verify the location of my ACT admission ticket. I think it's under my bed...what a good filing system I have, eh? :-) Usually I put things places that I will (supposedly) remember and then forget when the time comes that I need them....
Oddly enough, I'm pretty sure I took the Test of Iowa Basic Skills back in the day. For me, it was a totally optional way to prove I was learning something in high school.
Iowa may consist mostly of farmland, but how many states can boast of a national test named after them?
I know that this is a little late, but you could have used your computer's modem as a fax machine. That is if you had a scanner or the paperwork was on the internet already.
