If Ma Ain't Happy.....
....ain't nobody givin' her chocolate.
This is not a frivolous topic of jest. Oh no. This is a real, down to earth, heartbreaking happening that.....well....JUST happened.
For the second time in two months, I have walked the candy aisles of Wal-Mart only to find the allotted space for Dove's Dark Chocolates empty. YES....I am SERIOUS! It wouldn't be so bad, but the adjoining spaces were literally OVERFLOWING with both milk chocolate, and caramel filled Doves. HEL--LO! If something's gone, it must be in demand!
After experiencing such emotional pain and trauma, I find it just a little hard to believe this.
Hey, you can HAVE your fancy RFID's, just GIVE--ME--MY--CHOCOLATE!!!
I suppose I wouldn't have been quite so dismayed, if I hadn't just spent 45 minutes waiting to use the photo machine. Some man, with apparently 300 or more pictures (OK, I am estimating) was carefully taking up all the time he could, while Ma was left cooling her heels, and even contemplating buying a Rod Stewart CD. (He has one out with Big Band ballads :-) but, I can always get a used one, cheaper)
Kendra was sent out on several forays to acquire mundane items, like toothpaste, vitamins, and anti-aging cream specifically formulated for those waiting in the photo machine line. Each time she returned, I sent her out again on harder and harder missions. By the end, she looked as though she'd aged a few years, herself. So, now she looks seven years older than Ardith, instead of just four...
But to every cloud there is a silver lining. Derek finally got to have all the time he needed to pick out a new (cheapo) watch.
*sigh*
On a completely different subject, I picked up an interesting looking book at Goodwill, "Your Final Diet." Especially intriguing was one of the sub-titles...."Eat chocolate to curb your appetite."
Finally, my kind of approach to dieting......except.....I don't have any chocolate...

Poor Mommy.
I guess it wouldn't help to tell you that I have about 2.5 big bars of dark chocolate in my drawer? And I'm hardly even eating it. But you probably wouldn't want any... just Hershey's and Lindt.
I have been known to take a nibble of Hershey's in moments of deepest distress. (just this morning, for example)
Lindt. That is the THIRD time you have mentioned that name.....I shall have to try it when I take Jason in to Waterloo this Saturday.
Just yesterday I couldn't resist a new cholcolate bar that said "60% cocoa." So I tried it--definitely on the bitter side, but quite good. Maybe that means I'll eat less at a time? Have you tried it?
What was it called? Lindt? That seems to be all the rage nowadays...
Kendra normally looks 4 years older than me?
Hrmph.
Oh, I wouldn't be too sure about that
Kendra
