I've been seeing something similar in our back yard, but the patches are smaller. Clever critters, huh?

Their actually very tiny little things.
White and tiny. If you leave out a bike they will have it covered in webs in an hour or two.
What do they do, communicate through vibrations in the webs. If so, whenever the wind blows you could have a catastrophe on hand. :-D!
