Out Ioway

My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of Heaven and earth,
He will not let your foot slip-
He who watches over you will not slumber.

In Indiana

Howdy from Indiana :-)

Ardith and I made it here safely early this evening. No problems on the drive out. I even "let" Ardith drive most of the way--through Chicago, if you can believe that!

Honestly, she is a great driver and I was only terrified once or twice. (JUST KIDDING, Ardith :-D

We went straight to the hospital and saw my father. He has a tube through his nose for one of the meds, as well as a PICC line for the blood pressure medicine (I think) The latest BP med seems to be working well. But the morphine keeps him drugged up. However, on my second visit to his room I repeated, "This is REBECCA...do you know me?" And he managed a weak but definable "Yes."

Reported, when his half-brother came to visit, he put out his hand for a handshake.

They will probably put in a PICC tube to the abdomen for the purpose of nourishment. A month long try at some type of rehabilitation will be attempted....

But, mostly it is a difficult thing to see him lying in bed like that. It is very hard, really.

So please keep praying for sustenance for the family, for God's will for my dad, and for safety as family travels back and forth.

Thank you....(Ma from Grandma's computer)

Hi Mrs. Hoyt,

My Dad had cancer when I was 9. It was a really hard thing to see him laying on the hospital bed, weak. Before then my Dad had basically never been sick. It was a hard thing.

I'm praying for you.
