Just in case you're not tired of hearing....

.....and because I know there are a few people wanting the latest on Dad:

-he's on the third blood pressure medication in attempts to keep it down to an acceptable level (that's not three at once, but the third one tried)

-during some neurological exams this morning his pupils were dilating similarly and both feet were moving similarly

-when awake, he can answer questions properly, though it is very difficult for him to speak

-he gets fidgety because of itchyness, starts rubbing off tubes and setting off alarms and whatnot.....has to be given medicine for that, which puts him back to sleep.

-in the best case scenario, it will be a long haul. If all goes very well, he will be in a hospital or nursing home for 6-8 weeks and still need care and rehabilitation after that.

I was SO glad to find the ICU number I'd been given earlier--then misplaced--for I was able to talk to my Mom and two brothers just a few minutes ago. Mom seems to be holding up pretty well.

It's always possible I've inadvertently given out some incorrect info since I'm repeating things 2nd hand, but this is what I know now. If he gets through the next 24 hours without a setback, we will know more.
