Super Tuesday
Nothing like a 6:30 wake-up call. It was Super Tuesday and the Hoyt family had an agenda, fer cryin' out loud!
Ma and the kids had eye doctor appointments :-D
Made these a month ago and didn't realize it would coincide with a gazillion primaries and another major winter storm.
However we got the job done in only 90 minutes (how I WISH the dental appointments could go this fast) and I only got to do some of Trevor's phonics and Nolan's math before it was time to go back to "the little room."
Aside from Derek getting a repair job on his frames, Ma is the only one requiring a change...yes, it's BIFOCAL time! Getting tired of sliding the specs down the nose just to read.
Ethan got by once again without needing glasses, but he's been informed by the optometrist that some day he will. We should have time for the psychological counseling before then.
A certain little almost-six-year-old joined the list of patients. Naturally Ma had to take pictures.
OOooo...Trevor's first time. A little dubious, perhaps?

Trevor was allowed to go into the room for my check-up to get an idea of what would take place. Then I sat in on his exam. These pictures were taken inbetween the pre-exam done by the assistant and the doctor's exam.
You could barely hear his responses..."A...E...O..."...just--so--cute :-) The doctor and assistant are very good...very mild and non-threatening to children.
"What's behind this chaiwoh, anyway?"

Ahh....still time for a little relaxation.

"Hmmm...which one of dose tings make yoh eyes into lazoh blastohs?"

Trevor's eyes are in good shape...basically 20/20 with a bit of astigmatism in his left eye, but nothing that needs correcting.
We were done shortly after 10:30 am and then it was off to Wal*Mart, el banco and home, by way of dollar sandwiches at McDonald's.
Pulling into the driveway the first snowflakes were beginning to fall. We were happy to be home and it only took Ma four tries to get the van up the ice hill and into the garage. There's a slim clearance of three inches on either side of the hulking white monster....something about the thought of clipping off a side mirror that makes me slow down to the extent that soon the back wheels are spinning and I'm saying, "I did that on purpose, you know..."
We are 3.5 miles north of the winter storm warning but we could get 4-5 inches of snow. Wind to follow. Ardith and Jason may get close to a foot!
Springs starts next month...
