First and foremost, Loren's brother is out of the hospital. Mark is taking it easy for a day or two before resuming his teaching and administrative duties at Good Shepherd School.

Kendra has a report of "no cavities" after her dental check-up. I guess this means she can stay in the will.

We were only seven minutes late for the appointment but that is hardly my fault. We left early as we knew the roads were dicey (it's Monday after all, and we know that every Sunday or Monday for the past 8 weeks has brought a storm...).

I did have to run back one mile down the road after discovering my cell phone wasn't in my purse. It had fallen out when my purse decided to lean over while I was putting on my coat...hmmm, maybe that part was my fault. What is NOT my fault is getting behind a long line of vehicles that slowed us down. True, the roads were quite icy, but in the end I arrived at the dentist a little late, ONCE AGAIN, keeping up with my usual protocols for that office whereby they call my home to see if I remembered and then I have to call home AGAIN once I get there to assure my skeptical family that I have (indeed) not flipped over in the ditch with just the wherewithal left to will my brain to MENSA.

Kendra and I had our usual fun time at Goodwill, purchasing several items from the "blue tag clothing is 99 cents" selection. We eventually wound up at McDonald's where Ma's self-discipline held her to two snack wraps and a diet Coke.

The car suffered a minor mishap on the way home in that an oncoming truck kicked up a stone, pitting the windshield of the venerable Green Dragon Lady Lincoln. It was quite shocking, but the car continued bravely on, emitting nary a peep except for that annoying "BEEP" that lets you know you've totally forgotten to put gas in the tank and you've got less than 25 miles to rectify the situation.

When I got home I was overjoyed to learn that "someone" had actually not gotten into much trouble while I was gone, providing me with hope that yes, it might even be safe to leave home again later this week.
