Carolyn Turns 14!

Well, despite the onset of cold misery, Carolyn was able to celebrate her birthday on Friday. Funny...when she turned seven she was in pain from a kidney infection.

She feels some better, but won't be going to church tomorrow. And Ma is starting to hear coughings from various peoples.

*sigh*

So here is a short Picasa album of the birthday doin's. It's probably interesting mainly for our family, as some of the pictures opening presents are repetitive. I mean, it's not like we can change wardrobes and backgrounds for each shot, ya know :-)

Carolyn turns 14

Carolyn chose Mexican Chicken and tortilla roll-ups for her birthday meal. (Thank you, Aunt Elizabeth!) THEN, she heard about something called "Triple Chocolate Cheesecake" from a friend at church, so naturally, Ma went online for the hunt.

Found a scrumptious looking one, and it turned out, despite the recipe having the wrong temperature in two different places. (BAD 'MyRecipes!') We baked it and baked it and got 'er done. I'll post the directions at a later date.

Carolyn wanted cherry pie filling and real whipped cream to go along with, and ooo, la, la, what cacao decadence! Though, I don't recommend eating two portions if you want to sleep later, that night.

Tomorrow is Melinda's birthday, so there will be more foodfull posting, but I'll warn you...Melinda is somewhat thrifty in her tastes :-D

Well, I've blathered on enough. There's a kid I have to drag out of the tub and then it's a simple repast of homemade chicken soup, homemade bread and homemade applesauce.

Life is so hard, here in the country :-p
