Blizzard Adventures With Ma

Fresh from her afternoon nap, Ma courageously went to her computer to see the updated forecast...BLIZZARD WARNING FOR THE EASTERN HALF OF IOWA!! {update: increased to the entire state, from 9 tonight through 8pm tomorrow}

Boots alors! Someone must brave the winds of swirldom to catch this story for posterity...it is....none other than...MA!

With quiet determination, Ma pulls on her snow boots and heavy winter man's coat that she bought at Goodwill for two bucks. A simple woolen red and white scarf is the only accessory she deigns to don. After all, the public has a right to know, and personal comfort is a thing of secondary importance.

Oh NOOOOOOooo! One of the kids left the sled outside...should Ma perform a winter rescue?
Nahhhh.

It's quite early in the storm, but one of the prime drift locations has already built up to 1 foot.
Tomorrow we'll see if a comparison shot shows any continental drift.

Out on the road, it was not too bad, as of 4:30pm. Drifts were only 6 inches deep...
...and a pickup went through shortly after this photo was taken.

It is now 6:30 and no traffic has been past for a while.

Updates tomorrow morning, power permitting.
