Anniversary Getaway - Friday Morning

Well, I may have been cooking for 29 years, but I can still cause a scene at the complementary breakfast café, thank you very much!

Here's how it's done:

1) spy waffle making machine
2) wonder aloud where the cups of pre-mixed waffle batter are located
3) have an "aha" moment when you discover they have a DISPENSER to pour out batter, with a little nozzle thingy
4) put more batter than necessary into cup
5) pour into waffle iron and close
6) let harsh beeping noise penetrate the eardrums of fellow breakfast eaters, until you realize you're suppose to TURN OVER the waffle iron
7) obtain visual of cooking spray can, sitting atop batter machine...say "Oh cr**" "ut oh" softly to self
8) observe excess batter pouring out onto drip pan...repeat verbalization from last part of step 7
9) when timer beeps indicating waffle is done, pull apart iron sections, neatly bifurcating your waffle in two, horizontal planes
10) take plastic utensil and deftly separate the two pieces from their respective waffle iron prisons
11) apologize profusely to the attendant, who had just cleaned the area before you arrived, is paid to be extremely nice, and congratulates you on extricating your waffle in much better shape than the previous losers who forgot to use cooking spray

And it's just that easy!

After that, we went back to the room to catch up on web news, which pretty much entailed me throwing a mild cyber-hissy-fit when I discovered Loren's speed was great and mine was practically non-existent.

Time to visit Wal*Mart and Goodwill!

Wal*Mart, because my OTC pain medications were at home (Man...don't you hate it when you leave your analgesics in your other purse...)

And Goodwill because hey, isn't that why I came in the first place?

They didn't have much, sad to say, so I uncharacteristically left the place with nothing.

Another anniversary miracle, heh, heh. However, there are other stores to check out :-D

The weather seems to have cleared for a bit, so perhaps we'll go hiking this afternoon.

Better take a nap, for strength.
