Making Plans
Despite a harrowing morning involving He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named, the day is slowly winding down to the peaceful sunset of weekend.
Well, after I put in four more miles on the treadmill.
A little progress on the big graduation weekend: I reserved a park shelter for Kendra's after-commencement bash. It's quite close to a huge playground for the younger whipper-snappers.
And since Kendra's going into the PA program in Des Moines, it won't be a problem if anyone gets hurt. She can always put it on her work experience, ha ha.
Across the street is the famous Warsaw Pizza Hut, and on an unrelated note, all I have to do is figure out some kind of food for the feast.
Hmmmm. I wonder...
Speaking of the Kendra-girl, she is, right this very moment (!) (or thereabouts) winging her way across the east coast and the ocean to merry ol' England.
Expected to land at Heathrow around 8:30 tomorrow morning, British time.
The first day will include St. Paul's Cathedral, the Globe Theatre, the World War II Cabinet War Rooms/Churchill Museum, followed by the British Museum.
And that's all before lunch!
*sigh*
However, we're going to be having our own bit of enjoyment, first weekend of April.
That's when I'll take the four youngest to hear the River City Barbershop Chorus, up by Mason City. Ethan and I heard them last year, and they are truly wonderful. A fellow from our church sings in the group. The program is more than worth the reasonable ticket prices.
Also have made plans for the boys' testing, next week. Wednesday and Thursday are the appointed mornings, with the tests taken in the principal's office. We've gotten through the practice books and all I have to do is review some hot spots and cross all of my fingers and toes...
But first, the weekend!
A movie tonight, with Carolyn, the possibility of sleeping in, and best of all--NO SCHOOL FOR TWO DAYS!
No planning, no nagging, no cajoling, no exasperation...I think you get the picture.
Sounds like a plan.
