Please Pray for ......
....Ardith's computer. It has died. Naturally, if I were closer, I would whip right down Texas-way and start to work on it. My computer skills (or lack, thereof) are legendary. But, there are enough nerds down there that someone can probably diagnose it, or at least attempt CPR. Ardith is a nerd, herself. It's something they are quite proud of in those technical schools. She may just bring her computer home where she is already expected to set up a little computer hospital clinic over Christmas break. The kids are already standing in line for her services. There is even talk of scrounging up enough spare parts to set up two-year-old Trevor with his own computer. Why not? He is already hogging everyone else's.
Only one item on the agenda for tomorrow: Loren's ears. I gotta get up at 6:30 in the morning so he can have a (de)wax job done. I asked the doc if they could do my legs, but he said, "No dice. It's not that kind of wax job!" (I like to keep these doctors hoppin' :-) By the time I find a parking place, he could be done. Oh well, what else have I got to do?

Let me highly recommend, "Highland Christmas," by The McCallans. It was one of those cheap CD's I found in the Christmas section at Wal-Mart. It's a bagpipe-led ensemble that is the first to rival my, "Christmas With Pavarotti & Carreras." The only thing missing is Plàcido Domingo. (I got that "à" in just six tries, by the way. I'm getting better at my "alt" guessing game)
I'm having this vision of the ideal musical ensemble..... It involves Pavarotti playing the bagpipes, Carreras on the harp, and ol' Plàcido, singing. (he has the best voice of the Three Tenors, in my humble estimation) I think it could work.
Enough of idle dreams. It is time for repose.
I shall leave you with this ancient Irish blessing:
"May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be ever at your back,
And may the wax, be ever, on the wane."

I could tell you stories about praying for computers and laying hands on them for healing, etc. but then I would be embarrassing myself. If anybody can fix that computer, I'm sure Ardith can. However, I'm sure it is very frustrating for her to have it die at this point in the semester. So I will pray for Ardith (but not for her computer).
