As summer wanes....

......time for one last visit to the lake

There. I've done it. Fullfilled my promise to the children to take not just one, but TWO trips to Pine Lake, this year. My pledge is completed, my vow acheived.

I done good, and am off the hook :-)

It might look like the kids are just sitting around, drinking soda and snarfing M&M's, but they WERE in the water a substantial amount of time. At least, Derek on down, were in the water. Jason immediated assigned himself the task of engineering a great city out of sand, and Kendra, after enjoying the water for a brief period, wrapped herself in a towel, read a book and enjoyed the balmy weather.

And so, the weary water warriors have all returned, safe, but tired. SO tired, that I just may have to fix supper by myself. This, despite having endured the arduous task of sitting in a lawn chair, sipping diet Cherry Coke, popping dill pickle chips (promotes thirst and more beverage imbibing) and downing dark chocolate. Oh yes, we must not forget that all I had to listen to was big band music.

Really, life is just so hard, sometimes.

*grins*

I don't mind suffering. Really, I don't.
