Out Ioway

My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of Heaven and earth,
He will not let your foot slip-
He who watches over you will not slumber.

In honor of Coretta Scott King....

....two men of influence flame at President Bush. And here I thought a memorial service was where one remembered the life of the deceased. One could conclude:

-tearing down others is how they pay their respects

-they ran out of nice things to say of Mrs. King? Surely not.

-they thought she would approve

-they had their own agendas which took precedence over what they were there for

-it wasn't a memorial service, but rather, a political rally

-they didn't want President Bush there, so they railed against him....though they would have said much worse had he not attended....oh wait,....maybe that's WHY they are upset....Bush came, preventing them from saying what they really wanted...

-maybe they're not men of influence, they just WANT to be

Reverend Lowery must certainly take pride in the fact that he received a two-minute-long standing/cheering ovation. An emotional appeal to wrongs committed....(why am I thinking of Denmark?)......sounds like a sublime way to heal "the great racial divide," in America.

It wasn't all that long ago that people cheered for the Führer, too.

Yes, I agree with you. I guess I shouldn't have been shocked that it was more a political rally than a memorial service.
I still check in every day when I get home from work!
