The Ma Side
Punxsutawney Phil yawned and peered out of his hole. Noting the predominance of blue sky, his head swiveled around until his gaze met with a weepy, forlorn cloud. Despite his longing for the end of winter, Phil's rodent heart went out to the confused bag of water droplets. It looked sad. It looked lonely. It looked like it needed a great big dose of self-esteem that only a hairy feller of his maturity and weather prognosticating stature could grant.
The lumbering groundhog retreated into his den for another six weeks. It was the right thing to do. It made sense from a humane and ecocentric point of view.
