"I went to a sleep study and they discovered I woke up 245 times in one night." (in other words, not unlike a night with a new baby)
Ha ha, ha ha, ha. This is so very funny. Almost as funny as the little article on REM at Wikipedia...
Most of the vividly recalled dreams occur during REM sleep. It is the lightest form of sleep, and people awakened during REM usually feel alert and refreshed.
This is one little girl who didn't wake up feeling refreshed. I'd count the number of brain cells I lost, but the cells I lost were the ones that count.

Well, since the "first" comment seemed a rather unrelated rant, I chose to delete it. Nothing despicable in it, per se, just completely irrelevant.....
Hope no one was offended by the deletion. If you were, send me an e-mail. If you don't know my e-mail address, then you may not be eligible to comment in such a rantish way :-)
(Thought that our blog being non-public made us immune from spam comments, and would prevent the need for verification....perhaps I was wrong)

I like this blog. It's one of my favorites.
Well, even if the husband doesn't actually post that often, he remains a moderating influence. You have no idea how bi-zarre things could get.
And frankly--Loren being rather articulate and quite capable in areas of wit-wielding--it is the blogosphere's loss.

I am very sorry that I jumped to the conclusion that you were a spam commenter.
The reasons are thus:
-the only "Linda" I know from around here does not have a blog, and I knew it wouldn't be her commenting.
-your comment had nothing to do with the my post, but I was forgetting that it is the custom of some bloggers to answer a comment to one person's blog, on the commenters blog, instead of right there at the site of the subject. I'm still not used to that and I'm not in the habit of responding that way. That's why it took me a while to figure out what was going on.
I think your concerns deserve more than I can give them at this moment of the morning, so I plan to address them in a post later today.
Again, I was not trying to dismiss you--I just didn't understand who you were or where you were coming from.
Linda, am I right in assuming your blog site is here?
In talking this over with my husband, we would truly be more comfortable in conversing about personal issues or offenses via email.
This blog is our family's way of keeping in touch with friends and out-of-state relatives. The vast majority of people who comment here, do so in relation to a specific post and are people that we know personally.
Since we do not know you, we would prefer to carry on the discussion (not to mention discover just what is going on) in a format other than the blog.
If you will confirm that you are the Linda of the above link, I can send a much more detailed letter by email, which I hope you would not "block" or delete. But of course, that choice is up to you.
Our choice, for this blog, is to not have it morph into a forum for issues not brought up by our family.

Well, since this discussion is reputedly over, just let me point out this:
The Internet - That place where you can get accused of an unapologetic judgemental attitude, when making a joke with people you've known personally for years, by someone who lives in another country and has never actually met you.
Which reminds me; I need to go find some new online forums to wreak havoc in.
