The Day After
Are you as sick of politics as I am?
Thought so.
Oh don't get me wrong, it's interesting and all of that, but in the end the same old lessons are learned:
1) Good ideas don't matter
2) Burning political ambitions do...and thus,
3) Snarkiness prevails

How's about a little amusement?
This actually happened on Monday, so I'm a tad late in passing along the life-changing info. And if any aliens did hear the Beatles' song "Across the Universe" which Nasa beamed to the North Star, we trust they were properly impressed.
Personally, I would have sent opera.

If you thought we had a dilemma with oil production and it's ensuing price increases, you should see China and their pig problem. The thought of China having to dip into their "pork reserve" sends chills up my spine.
Let's hope that visitors to the upcoming Olympics won't have to worry about getting run down by pig-nappers on motorbikes.
(Ma's helpful suggestion: a Harley would carry more pig per heist)

In our house we've pretty much put a total nix on soft drinks. There are exceptions for special dinners out. Also, if Ma has a long drive she will still sip the occasional Diet Coke. I've found that easier than trying to persuade a doctor to authorize an IV caffeine drip. For the most part though, we are a pop-free family.
Now, if you need additional proof of the dangers of soft drinks, gettaloadathis...
Sweet drinks = gout
Who knew Lord Fauntleroy had pop issues?

The next is just pure fun. From a variety of contests, dumb answers to quiz questions. There are only 3-4 questions on each of 4 pages, so it takes almost no time at all to be amazed by ignorance.
