Wow
Eight O'Clock and nary a post.
I must be slippin'.
Loren has been hacking a bit today but he was up and around for an hour or three messing with computerish stuff.
Hey folks, we all need things to live for...and besides, it keeps him out of the bars, heh, heh.
(that's a JOKE. he doesn't drink)
Speaking of Loren, I'll mention a few tidbits from the ol' hospital stay:
--we were told to report to Emergency, but all of their exam rooms were full, so they took us to Critical Care. We walked into the large room with curtained partitions and Loren starts looking around with this amazed recognition, "I remember this! The last time I was here was when the helicopter brought me in!"
Ah....memories. Let's see, was that the first 10,000 dollar helicopter ride? Or the second 10,000 dollar helicopter ride?
--the infamous IV attempt. They always have a hard time getting an IV in Loren, stubborn cuss that he is...and Monday night--or was it Tuesday morning, it's just so hard to remember--was no exception. I knew something wasn't right when the nurse was trying to squeeze something in through the syringe and it made this big puffball under his skin. The third time worked. Loren may have been a little dehydrated.
--one of the good things about leaving at 3 in the morning is that they don't man the parking ticket booth during overnight hours. That's one small skip for a Ma, one giant leap for Ma-kind.
--Loren had a nice view out of his hospital room window of the black armored Hummer's belonging to the Dalai Lama. Seems he was at Mayo for his annual checkup :-) He had a few speaking engagements also, but Loren heard one nurse say she wasn't going to attend this year. She'd gone before but had a hard time understanding his English.
Can you imagine? A chance to see an historical figure like that and passing ?

We have another person showing signs of sickness, but maybe it won't be so bad this time. Maybe this will be the last sick child.
Maybe we'll never even get sick again...
HA HA, HA HA, HA HA Ha
It's OK, though.
I have homemade tapioca pudding.
