The Sullivan Brothers

This being Veteran's Day, I thought it appropriate to post something along those lines, but with a local flavor.




The Sullivan Brothers hailed from Waterloo Iowa, and all perished together on a ship, during World War Two.

They asked to be assigned together, but after that tragedy, rules were changed to prevent another family loss of those proportions. It is a story worth reading, and I encourage all to do so. Surely we can't begrudge a few minutes, on this day...

The Sullivan Brothers Iowa Veterans Museum opens this Saturday. It will be part of the Grout Museum and will be dedicated to all Iowa veterans.
