3 Shopping Weeks Until Ardith's Birthday...
...and the only possibility, so far, is a cat.
I'm sensing a little apathy in the gift suggestion box.
Not to worry, though. There is still time and Ma will keep all venues open, as I'm certain the ideas will be pouring in at any virtual moment.
In the meantime, I've been harking back to the past for those surefire gifts of yore. Here are several things I've come up with:
--paint by number sets
--macrame kit
--chia pets
Let me know if any of you have some/all of these items in your attics. I have several tons of old computer parts I would be more than willing to swap. FREE SHIPPING!
And then, there is always that old Tandy computer sitting up in our attic. 'Twould make her a LOVELY gift in itself. In a totally retro and super cool way. I'd be willing to bet that most of her associates at work do not have a Tandy, and this would be a guaranteed way to make them all insanely jealous. Tell me what you think about that, won't you?

Moving to the other end of the progeny spectrum, Nolan has discovered constructing words with Legos.
As long as he likes giving orders to himself, I have a few others he might want to consider...

Since we generally spend more on gifts than on ourselves, how about some slippers for Ardith--I hear Wal-Mart has some nice ones. If she doesn't like them, perhaps she would regift them to you. (Be sure you get the "right" size.)

(I could get the picture, although I'm really not sure what the correlation is... except that it's a cute little kid, which Mommy obviously was plus had 10 of...)
Oh boy, this countdown is more exciting than for Christmas! I have a great idea, as far as pets go. I really think a miniature schnouzer would be just the dog for Ardith.
Maybe try incorporating more legos into Nolan's math lessons? Might help with spelling too?
I hear that a kitchen apron, some curlers, pots and pans and other domestic-ware are always in fashion for the discerning young lady. That and a subscription to this fine publication
