Has been a nice combination of busy and slow.
Loren mentioned a trip to Menard's, and would I like to go with him? Well, Menard's may not be the same as Goodwill, but the store still has its useful points. And after being away from home for a week, a trip to Waterloo and back is a good place for husband and wife to have non-kid-interrupted talk over a subject or ten.
Menard's is as close as it comes to heaven on earth for a guy like Loren. So many parts. So many possibilities.
I meandered off to the garden section and picked up a few things for the herb haven I'll be establishing this year...*crosses fingers*...and coming back down the aisle, what did I discover but Dove's Dark Chocolates on sale! It seemed providential.
Also acquired pour moi: garden gloves. Then I looked around at bathroom stuffs, since Loren wants to get another one "finished" before the end of school. My continual complaint in that department is the shocking scarcity of toilets that have a smooth, straight slope coming down from the bowl. Why the original, totally male-engineered and absolutely FLAWED design of tubular shape has endured, lo, these many years, is unfathomable. Those sides make cleaning a real chore, but I guess that didn't cross the minds of those inventors. I did find one, which was at least 100 dollars more in price.
This would never have happened if women were in charge of the world.
After Menard's, el hubbo and I visited Wal*Mart where they, as Menard's, lacked cabbage plants. Ah well, 'tis early, yet. I was trying to mollify the Trevor-lad, but he can wait to plant his beloved vegetable pick for the year.
A trip to Arby's completed the morning, and we headed home with plumbing and plant booty.
Home.
I feel compelled to reiterate that is is SO--GOOD---TO---BE---BACK.

Catching up on the blogs and other internet stuff after being out of town for eight days with NO internet access - I agree about toilet design. I even fussed about it to our builder in 1992 when we had the house built but since we also had a budget, both toilets have the undesirable, harder to clean sides. I'm trying to live with more gratitude, so I'll let it be known that I am very grateful for indoor toilets--not matter the shape :p
True. And suddenly I'm reminded of the primitive campground we visited on our honeymoon.
