In Which Ma Impacts the New York Times

Possibly.

I do check the New York Times' obits on a fairly regular basis. Besides confirming my still being alive, they feature people who are known authors, musicians, scientists, etc. It can be pretty interesting. A quick read in recent history, science and culture.

I've also started checking on the Des Moines Register for news, simply because they're in Iowa, nationally known, and also have the occasional, cool "Old Picture of the Day."

And when the Register put up the obituary of Dr. Ponseti last week, a pioneer in the treatment of club foot who had practiced at University of Iowa Hospitals, I was quite intrigued. I vaguely remembered hearing of him, earlier.

THEN, I checked back to the NYT obits...no Dr. Ponseti. I thought to myself, "Ma? Perhaps you should send an email to the NYT with the link of Dr. Ponseti's death..."

So I did.

The obit came out in the New York Times, yesterday.

Maybe they were going to print it anyway...who knows?

It sorta made my day.
